Die derzeit 483 deutschen Shoppingcenter verfügen über eine Gesamtfläche von 15,65 Mio. m2. Vor knapp 20 Jahren waren es noch 279 Center mit 9,2 Mio. m2 Fläche.

Die von der ECE entwickelte "Digital Mall" ist in mehr und mehr Shoppingcentern verfügbar. Die Altmarkt-Galerie in Dresden und das Main-Taunus-Zentrum in Sulzbach bei Frankfurt bieten seit Dezember 2018 die in dieser Form bislang einmalige Online-Produktsuche auf ihren Websites an.
